Chilmark Pond Dredging: Progress Update
Major Milestones & Progress We’re happy to share good news about the progress of dredging on Chilmark Pond. The project has continued to move forward, and important milestones have been met. With the arrival of the larger DENOS6 dredge (this is possible because the pond is deeper than anticipated), progress has picked up significantly. Restoring Chilmark Pond Together: Progress and Promise in 2025
2025 Achievements This year, Chilmark Pond Foundation took major steps toward restoring the Pond’s ecological health. We deployed the LG Sonic Buoy to combat harmful cyanobacteria blooms and began dredging north of the barrier beach to improve water exchange.
